Officers return to street where Pittsburgh police officer was shot

PITTSBURGH — Police returned to the street where Pittsburgh police Officer Calvin Hall was shot over the weekend.

Channel 11's Amy Hudak saw officers carrying an evidence box out of a home on Montecello Street in Homewood and placing the box into a crime scene investigation truck.

Officers also took pictures around the home.

A man who said his family lives in the home said SWAT surrounded the home earlier in the day, kicked in the door and took his nephew into custody for something unrelated. It's not clear what charges he's facing but his family is adamant he's not involved in the death of Hall.

The search took place on the same street where Hall was trying to break up an argument between people early Sunday morning. Moments later, he was shot three times in the back.

Hall died at a hospital on Wednesday.

Police said their investigation continues. They're renewing their call to the community for anyone who knows anything to come forward, saying crimes can't be solved without cooperation. Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
