One arrested after crashing into police car/semi-truck

CHIPPEWA TWP. — An 18-year-old Monaca man faces charges after police say he led them on a chase before ramming the stolen vehicle into a police cruiser and crashing into a semi-truck.

Justin Corrie was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, fleeing and reckless driving after the incident in Chippewa Township on Friday.

Pennsylvania State Police Beaver said the incident began on Constitution Blvd. in Chippewa Township, around 11:15 a.m. Friday, when a township police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle after the vehicle was identified as reported stolen from a possible robbery in Moon Township.

The vehicle drove off through South Beaver Township and into Darlington Township, before ramming one of the Chippewa Township Police vehicles head-on and continuing to flee.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a semi-truck at the intersection of Cannelton Road and Darlington Road. Corrie was flown to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment.

Police did not report any injuries to officers.
