Person hit by vehicle on Route 65

PITTSBURGH — A woman was hit by a vehicle Sunday on Route 65 in Pittsburgh, officials said.

Emergency dispatchers said southbound lanes of the highway were closed at one point, but have since reopened.

The woman, 37, was attempting to cross the roadway in the direct line of traffic when she was hit.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The injured woman was taken to a hospital in serious, but stable condition, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.
