Pittsburgh Public Schools said the students then admitted to having eaten the Xanax bar.
Sources told target 11 that the students involved are in the ninth, 10th and 11th grades.
A spokesperson for the district said two of those students will be charged with possession of a controlled substance. The students will be charged as juveniles.
