Pittsburgh Zoo closed because of power outage

PITTSBURGH — 9:10 P.M. UPDATE: Power has been restored to the zoo and it will be open on Monday, a spokeswoman said.

Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is closed Sunday because of a power outage.

A zoo spokesperson said crews are working to repair a “major electrical line” that left the zoo without power starting late Saturday night.

Generators are being used to help zookeepers care for the animals, the spokesperson said.
