PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium will be celebrating World Gorilla Day on Sunday.
There will be a special appearance by the newest member of the western lowland gorilla family, 4-month-old Frankie.
Frankie is learning to crawl and explore his environment.
Zakula will also be celebrating her 50th birthday with one of her favorite foods -- popcorn.
She is the seventh-oldest gorilla in North America and the fourth-oldest female, but despite her age, she still keeps up with the rest of the family.
Western lowland gorillas are critically endangered, according to the zoo.
