PITTSBURGH — Two T-6 Texan warbird airplanes flew over parts of Pittsburgh and the South Hills in honor of the 4th of July.
The flyover was part of the annual celebration put on in Brentwood. However, nearly all of the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizers said the planes were delivered to the navy in 1942 during WWII. The blue and white navy paint scheme on the planes was added in 1983 to commemorate Korean War Veterans.
The planes performed several maneuvers and released smoke into the sky.
