Police asking for help in unsolved murder of former Woodland Hills football star

WILKINS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Investigators are asking for help in the unsolved murder of a former Woodland Hills High School football star.

On July 2, 2017, an Uber driver found 19-year-old Jeremiah Jones, who had been shot multiple times, in a wooded, remote area on Lougeay Road.  The Uber driver called 911 and performed CPR until police and paramedics arrived.  Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators with the Allegheny County Police Department Homicide Unit believe Jones arrived in a car and had been shot at the scene where he was found.  Several shell casings and bullets were found at the crime scene.

Jones was a football star at Woodland Hills High School,  and he graduated in 2016. He was heavily recruited by schools such as West Virginia University and Pitt.

Anyone with information about this unsolved homicide is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.  A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.
