Police called to North Allegheny school after student makes threat

MCCANDLESS, Pa. — The North Allegheny School District said McCandless police were called to the intermediate high school Thursday after a student made a threat of gun violence.

District officials took no chances and as soon as they found out, they contacted police.

According to a letter sent home to parents, around 12:30 p.m. Thursday a student at the school notified a counselor about comments made by another student that suggested a threat of gun violence toward the school.

Administrators identified the student who made the threat and removed the student from class.
