A man is charged with kidnapping after police said he took a boy from a downtown Pittsburgh day care and held him for ransom.

Cameron Cain is accused of taking the 2-year-old child from Brightside Academy on Monday. According to a criminal complaint, he refused to return the boy to his mother unless she gave him a car that is in her name.

Cain also threatened to shoot up the boy’s mother’s house and kill her and her son, police said.
