LEECHBURG, Pa. — People living in Leechburg say crime is rare in their small town, but when the owner of Coco Coffeehouse went to open up Thursday morning, she realized someone had broken in overnight.
The business on Market Street is now temporarily closed.
The store owner wrote on the coffee shop's Facebook page: "Heartbroken. Came in this morning to discover the shop has been broken into, robbed and vandalized. The police are here now. We will be closed temporarily while we try to recover. I have always welcomed everyone to Coco Coffeehouse as a place where our community can feel at home. It's hard to imagine who would do this."

Police say someone got into the shop through a window sometime Wednesday night.
The whole cash register and a few other items from inside the store were missing when the owner showed up Thursday morning.
Several customers told Channel 11 the owner is an active member of the community, always willing to support local events. They were shocked to hear about a crime like this.

"It's very rare. I've been here 10 years. I think this is the first local business to be broken into," customer Steve Banco said.
Leechburg police told our news partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review they believe just one person broke in, and the burglar may have been scared off, because they left behind a hat and sunglasses.
Pennsylvania State Police are processing those items and the coffeehouse for DNA evidence.
