PITTSBURGH — A proposed bill could bring an end to smoking in Pennsylvania casinos, restaurants, bars and hotels.
Current legislation allows for businesses like Rivers Casino to be exceptions when it comes to a smoking ban. Casinos can have designated sections for smokers.
According to Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE, bars are permitted to allow smoking if 20 percent or less of profits come from food.

State Rep. Matt Baker’s proposed the bill that would stop smoking in businesses like bars and casinos.
Rivers Casino released the following statement:
"Rivers Casino is committed to providing a comfortable atmosphere for all our guests. Currently, Rivers Casino features dedicated smoking and non-smoking areas of our gaming floor; all restaurants on property are non-smoking. Decisions about smoking in Pennsylvania's casinos are made by the state legislature, and Rivers will, of course, comply with whatever the Commonwealth mandates."
