Showers, storms to move through area Friday

Showers and a few storms will move through the area Friday evening.

Some storms could bring wind strong, wind gusts and quick, heavy downpours, but widespread severe weather is not expected.

Heavy rain was moving ENE out of Armstrong County as of 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Another round of showers and a few storms will developing around 4 p.m. from New Castle to Butler. This line will move into Beaver, Allegheny County, and will likely weaken.

Showers will still be in the area, with a possible storm for the evening commute.

The severe weather threat is low.

Scattered showers will end Friday evening, while it will stay mostly cloudy and muggy for the overnight hours.
