Speed limits are being temporarily reduced Wednesday as a winter storm bears down on western Pennsylvania.
Reductions are being implemented in Allegheny, Beaver, Lawrence, Butler, Armstrong, Indiana, Clarion and Jefferson counties.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said speed limits have been reduced to 45 mph on the following roadways:
- Interstate 79
- Interstate 279 (Parkway North)
- Interstate 376 (Parkways East and West)
- Interstate 579
- U.S. 22/30
- Route 28
- Interstate 80
- Route 22
Channel 11 had Team 11 Coverage across the area.
At noon, roads in the City of Pittsburgh were mostly covered in slush.
The wintry mix definitely made it difficult for motorists in the North Hills.
Residents in Butler County were hit the hardest.
In Westmoreland County, Greensburg saw mostly freezing rain.
