Storms knock down power lines, temporarily close Indiana Twp. intersection

Storms that whipped through on Wednesday knocked down trees and power lines across the area.

Downed poles and transformers closed the intersection of Route 910 and Saxonburg Boulevard in Indiana Township. Saxonburg was closed until about dawn Friday.

Duquesne Light, which is currently on scene making repairs, said 200 customers are without power. A worker said two to four poles went down.

The closed intersection may cause some problems for Fox Chapel Area School District buses Thursday morning.
