Target issues recall for 178K dressers that can tip over and injure children

Target has issued a recall on Wednesday for nearly 178,000 hazardous dressers that can tip over, trap and injure children.

The recall comes after the retailer received 12 reports of the dressers tipping over on two 3-year-old children. No injuries were reported.

A total of 175,000 of the $118 Room Essentials four-drawer dressers were sold in the U.S. and 3,000 were sold in Canada. The recall includes the dressers in all three colors. The model numbers are 249-05-0103 (black), 249-05-0106 (espresso), or 249-05-0109 (maple).

TRENDING NOW:

The dressers were sold online and in stores between January 2013 through April 2016.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission say consumers should immediately stop using the dressers if they're not properly anchored and return them to Target for a full refund.
