Teller testimony details alleged Brentwood bank robbery

Dressed in a red Allegheny County Jail jumpsuit, Gary White had no comment for Channel 11 as he left a Baldwin magistrate’s courtroom Tuesday afternoon.

Only Channel 11 was there as White faced robbery charges stemming from the robbery of a PNC bank in Brentwood last month. More than $111,000 was allegedly stolen.

In court Tuesday, a bank teller who White allegedly confronted testified.

"He told me, ‘Give me $6,000,’ and he said, ‘I have a gun too,’” she told the judge. “We were totally scared at the time.”

The teller told the judge she never saw the gun. According to a criminal complaint, White then hopped the counter.

“(He) broke the protective glass and forced his way over the counter while holding the knife,” the complaint alleges.

It was at that point that investigators say White made his way into the main vault, where he filled a soccer bag full of money and then left.

Investigators say security cameras around the bank and at nearby businesses helped identify White and his car.

A judge held all charges for court, where White will then give his side of the story of what happened in the bank.
