A Texas man was killed Friday night in a one-vehicle crash in Kittanning.
Michael Edward Johnson, 43, of Katy, Texas, was speeding in a Nissan Frontier on Simpson Church Road around 10:15 p.m. when it left the road near the intersection with Roofner Road, the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office said.

The truck struck several trees and went down an embankment. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said.
A female passenger was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
