3 facing drug charges after 2 separate searches of same Ligonier home

LIGONIER, Pa. — Three people are facing charges in connection with two separate drug busts at the same Ligonier home.

The first search happened in June.

A Ligonier officer and members of the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force pulled garbage from in front of a home on Trout Avenue.

According to a criminal complaint, in the trash they found drug paraphernalia, used packages of Sudafed, empty boxes of cold compresses, lithium batteries that had been taken apart and hypodermic needles.

Based on that discovery, police got a search warrant for the home.

In an upstairs bedroom, they found Kelsey Mathews and Kyle Clem.

Officers said they also found heroin paraphernalia, a manufacturing kit for methamphetamine along with residue and waste of meth.

Both Mathews and Clem were charged with numerous drug offenses.
