"No broken bones, nothing. I'm fine," said Liberta McLuckie. She walked away without a scratch.
"The interior roof, thank heavens, was very well-padded, because that's where I got hit on my head and the padding saved me from the concussion. I do believe that. Had there been a passenger in the car, they would've been killed."

McLuckie had the day off but was on her way to drop off papers at work at the Rostraver Shop 'n Save. She takes Fellsburg Road to and from the store, five days a week.
"It was a freak accident. I had no idea what was happening," McLuckie said.
She didn't hear the tree fall, but she felt it.

"I felt a bump on my head and, here, a tree had fallen across the road and the main part of the tree was still on the ground."
The roof of her car caved in, the windshield and passenger window smashed and there are still pieces of the tree stuck in the mangled metal.
Despite losing her car, McLuckie is in good spirits.
"I could turn it into a convertible," she said, laughing, "but I don't think they would do that for me so I'll be on the lookout for another vehicle."
