UPMC is abandoning plans to build a new hospital in South Fayette, Channel 11 has learned.
A study said that facility would have brought in about 500 jobs.

The health system would not say why leadership changed its mind about building the hospital.
A spokesperson sent Channel 11 a statement reading, in part, that UPMC is “pursuing other, more significant strategic options.”
