Vintage Grand Prix brings 250,000 people to city every year

PITTSBURGH — The 36th annual Vintage Grand Prix hits the streets of Pittsburgh this week.

The one-of-a-kind street race is at Schenley Park on Sunday, but there are plenty of events before then to build excitement for the big race.

"We bring about a quarter-million people into the city," said Dan DelBianco, executive director of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. "As a 10-day event, it's the largest vintage motor sports event in the country."

The event kicked off Wednesday with a tune-up event at Heinz Field.

More than 3,000 cars will be on display throughout the weekend.
