Warrant issued for third suspect in connection with New Castle triple homicide

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A warrant has been issued for a third suspect in connection with a triple murder in New Castle.

Anthony Cooper, 19, is charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide and firearms not to be carried without a license.

Police have already arrested and charged Stephen Procopio with three counts of homicide.

According to the criminal complaint, Procopio admitted that he and Cooper were both at the murder scene and told police he had seen a gun on Cooper. He said Cooper shot all three victims, according to the criminal complaint.

Procopio said he thought Cooper was only going inside to rob Nichole Pumphrey, but saw him pull a gun, according to the criminal complaint. Police said it wasn't a robbery.

Jodie Hammer, who Procopio had been living with for the past year, is also being held in police custody on charges related to growing marijuana and obstruction of justice.
