Water main break affects about 10 homes in Hempfield

About 10 homes are still without water at noon after a water main break in Westmoreland County on Friday morning.

The break on Hunter Road in Hempfield Township, near Swede Hill Road, broke after midnight, according to Matthew Junker, spokesman for the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.

There is no damage to any homes, Junker said.

Customers on Hunter, Swede Hill, Thomas School, South Greengate and Wyoming roads; Johns, Iowa and Garden streets; Woodward Drive; South Lincoln Avenue; and the Hempfield Industrial Park were initially affected by the break.
