PITTSBURGH — A woman who lives on Pittsburgh’s Southside said she caught a thief stealing from her mailbox.
Adele Kassler lives near the corner of 24th and Jane streets.
She said when she heard her mailbox click Saturday morning, she confronted the person on her porch.
“I opened the door and asked her if she had opened my mailbox because I think it is horrendous behavior,” Kassler said. “So I said, ‘Did you open my mailbox?’ and she said, ‘No, I didn’t open your mailbox.’ She was pretty flustered that someone had heard her.

Kassler said that the woman claimed she was lost and looking for a friend, but she didn’t buy it.
“She did it very quietly. If I had been in the kitchen I would not have heard it, but I happened to be right near the window,” she said.
