Woman rescued following porch collapse

BRADDOCK, Pa. — A woman is in the hospital after a porch collapse at a Braddock home on Tuesday afternoon.

Caution tape is still blocking off the townhouse in the Maple View Terrace housing complex.

Crews are examining the damage to the front porch and assessing the situation.

A neighbor said it was a tense atmosphere.

"I'm praying that she's going to be OK," said the neighbor. "But I'm surprised it happened because these guys out here are always working. They take care of the property."

The complex is owned by the Allegheny County Housing Authority. Executive director Frank Aggazio said the porch was constructed in 2002 during renovations at the complex, and engineers will examine each porch in the complex beginning Wednesday morning.
