WPXI-TV to host first lieutenant governor debate

PITTSBURGH — As election season kicks into high gear in October, WPXI-TV will exclusively host the first debate between Pennsylvania’s leading lieutenant governor candidates.

Jeff Bartos and John Fetterman will debate on Saturday Oct. 6, at the WPXI-TV studios in Pittsburgh. The event will be broadcast live, and can also be watched on WPXI.com, the WPXI news app and streaming apps for TV.

The debate, which will be moderated by Channel 11 Morning News anchor Katherine Amenta, will come just days after what is expected to be the lone debate between the leading candidates for governor, Tom Wolf and Scott Wagner.

"We are excited to host such an important debate here in our first-class studios," said WPXI-TV General Manager Kevin Hayes. "Hearing directly from the candidates is the right of voters across the Commonwealth, and we will work with the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters to make this debate accessible to all television stations and media operations in Pennsylvania."
