LOS ANGELES — The cause of death for actress Charlotte Rae, who died last week at age 92, has been revealed.
According to a death certificate for Rae obtained by TMZ, the woman who is best known for playing Mrs. Garrett on sitcoms "Diff'rent Strokes" and "The Facts of Life" died of cardiac arrest.
Other contributing factors are listed as metabolic acidosis -- a condition in which too much acid collects in the body -- and carcinoma of the right parotid gland, or salivary gland.
