The woman's family told WSB-TV they're offering $10,000 of their own money to find the suspects.

On Friday, Van Anh Ho picked up three teenagers who asked for a ride to school, according to police. When they told her to park near a Walmart, police said she got suspicious and jumped out of her SUV.

One of the suspects fired a gun, police said.

Even though she was wounded, Ho fought back, according to her daughter, Linh Ho.

"I want my mom to get better, but I also want justice. What they did to my mom was terrible. She was doing something out of the kindness of her heart," Linh Ho said.

Van Anh Ho is recovering in the hospital. She could be there for another 10 days.

Linh Ho said the bullet missed her mother's heart by 2 inches.

"It traveled across her stomach through her intestine. The bullet is still in her body," she said.

Linh Ho flew to Atlanta from New York to be with her mother.

"She's a very strong and a very brave woman, but at the same time, she has a heart of gold," Linh Ho said.

Linh Ho said her mother owns a nail salon and volunteers helping those in need.
Desperate for any information or tips, the family hopes the $10,000 reward will entice people to turn the teenagers in.

"That person, has a family, you know, that person has friends,” Linh Ho said, referring to her mother. “And, you know, they're putting this person's life in jeopardy."

Police are working to get clear surveillance video to identify the armed robbers.
