Harry and Meghan launch new Sussex Royal Instagram page, split from William and Kate

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex have launched their own Instagram page.

LONDON — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their own Instagram page.

People reported that the royal couple and parents-to-be launched their official account, @sussexroyal, on Tuesday. The publication said that, according to a royal source, the new page will be where Harry and Meghan share work and personal moments.

"Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues," Harry and Meghan said in their first post. "We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal."

The post includes a slideshow of the couple at various events and appearances.

Previously, Harry and Meghan were on social media jointly with Kensington Palace. In March, the palace announced Prince William and Kate Middleton

from Meghan and Harry. Since then, the Sussexes and the Cambridges have had separate social media accounts. The

The The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Instagram page already boasts 2.7 million followers, setting the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to gain one million followers on the social media platform. The feat was achieved in less than six hours, beating previous record holder Korean pop star Kang Daniel, BBC News reported. In January, Daniel hit one million followers in 11 hours and 36 minutes.
