Here’s a timeline of J. Lo and A-Rod’s relationship.

May 2005:

More than a decade before they started dating, Lopez met Rodriguez at Shea Stadium in New York before the No. 13 player’s game against the Mets on May 21, 2005. Lopez attended the game with her husband of over a year, singer Marc Anthony. The three stood together before the game -- J. Lo wore a Yankees baseball cap and Anthony wore a New York Mets jersey.

February 2017:

Lopez stopped by a restaurant for lunch after doing a photo shoot and saw Rodriguez walk by. She stepped outside, tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hey." The two had a chat about living in Los Angeles and, eventually, the two went out on their first date.

In an October 2017 interview with Vanity Fair, Rodriguez wasn't sure it was a first date.

“I didn’t know if it was a date,” he said. “Maybe we were seeing each other at night because of her work schedule. I went in uneasy, not knowing her situation.”

At some point during the date, Lopez told him she was single.

March 31, 2017:

After a month of speculation, Rodriguez confirmed he was dating Lopez.

"It's obvious, we've been having a great time," he said on "The View." "She's an amazing girl and one of the smartest human beings I've ever met and also an incredible mother."

Later that day, the pair was seen in New York in matching beige outfits.

May 1, 2017:

J. Lo and A-Rod made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala.

June 2017:

Lopez posted a photo of herself with her twins, Max and Emme, from her marriage to Anthony, and Rodriguez with his daughters, Ella and Natasha, from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis.

Later that month, the couple took a trip to Paris, documenting it on their Instagram pages.

October 2017:

The pair cover stars on Vanity Fair and discuss their love story, revealing the path they took to become a couple and what makes them work.

“We put so much pressure on ourselves to be great, to be the best all the time,” Lopez said. “We understood that about each other. When we came together, it was, ‘Oh my God, I was the same way.’”

November 2017:

The couple celebrated Thanksgiving as a blended family. According to a post on Rodriguez's Instagram page, Max, Natasha, Emme and Ella posed with a friend in matching plaid pajamas.

December 2017:

Lopez and Rodriguez celebrated their first Christmas with their children at their Miami home, documenting the special moment on Instagram.

January 2018: The blended family had a night out at a Lakers game in Los Angeles.

February 2018:

Rodriguez gets a shout out from Lopez as she performed at a pre-Super Bowl concert Feb. 3.

“We’ve been together for one year today,” Lopez said before performing her single. “Us.” “I don’t want to get all mushy or anything, but baby, this song’s for you. I love you.”

June 2018:

Rumors surfaced up that the couple was getting engaged, but Lopez said they weren’t in a rush.

"We have to take our time. I've made plenty of mistakes in my past," she told ABC News. "We're mature now, we're grownups and we're going to take our time and we're gonna do things at our own pace and our life right now is incredibly wonderful.  Between our kids and our work, we are truly blessed. We don't need anything more right now."

December 2018

Lopez and Rodriguez celebrated another Christmas together with Lopez's children in Miami. Lopez's mother, Guadalupe, and her sister, Lynda, also celebrated the holiday.

February 2019:

Two years in, the couple shared Instagram posts celebrating each other.

March 9, 2019:

After celebrating their second anniversary, Rodriguez popped the question to Lopez with a massive emerald-cut ring.
