ATLANTA — U.S. marshals in Fulton County, Georgia said they made a shocking discovery while serving an eviction notice at an abandoned apartment at a complex in Atlanta: a newborn sleeping in a closet.
The baby was found wrapped in a blanket in a basket.
“If they were willing to leave the baby behind, I don’t think they were too remorseful,” Fulton County Lt. Quintin Hill said.
The marshals went to the unit to serve an eviction order. Initially, they didn't hear or see anyone in the unit, but said they found the infant in a laundry basket in a bedroom closet.
