TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio grandmother was charged in the death of a 5-year-old boy after striking the child, then waiting a day to call 911, police said.
Yisenya Flores, 45, called 911 Thursday and said Anjuan M. Hare III was unconscious after falling off a bed, WTOL reported.

Fire crews responded and treated Anjuan at the scene. He was then taken to a hospital, where he died.
Doctors told police the injuries were not consistent with a fall from a bed, WTOL reported.
Investigators said Flores hit the boy Wednesday multiple times and didn't call 911 until after 6 p.m. Thursday after Anjuan was acting lethargic and slightly unresponsive, WTVG reported.
An autopsy report indicates Anjuan died from blunt force injuries. The coroner said there were signs that abuse was ongoing. There were older injuries that had healed.
Flores was arrested and charged with child endangerment Thursday. Her charges were upgraded Saturday to murder, WTOL reported.
