This is one name that should never be misspelled on a Syracuse University basketball jersey.
Boeheim.
Jim Boeheim is in his 43rd season as coach of the Orange. With more than 1,029 victories -- along with five Final Four appearances, and a national title in 2003 -- Boeheim has earned legendary status.
That time your father was one of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport and you played for him, but they spelled you name wrong on your jersey... #Boeheim #BuddyBoeheim #AcademicInstitution #OrangeNation pic.twitter.com/e7GwPXAm8t

But when Boeheim’s son Buddy played in the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden against the University of Connecticut on Thursday, the freshman wore a jersey that spelled his last name “Boheim,” the Syracuse Post-Standard reported.
The Orange were red-faced.
The younger Boeheim, at 6-feet, 5 inches, scored a point and had an assist in Syracuse’s 86-73 loss to the Huskies.
With his name properly spelled during Friday’s game against Oregon, Buddy Boeheim did better, scoring three points. But it was not enough, as the Orange (2-2) lost 80-65, spoiling Jim Boeheim’s 74th birthday, which is Saturday.
