Authorities in Maryland are investigating after parents found a needleless syringe among their child's Halloween candy on Monday night, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Officers were called around 7:30 p.m. on Halloween to a home in Glen Burnie for a report of a suspicious item. The parents, who were not identified, told investigators that they found a syringe among the candy gathered by their child after the kid went trick-or-treating Monday night.
"At this time, it is uncertain where the syringe came from or who was responsible for giving the child the syringe," police said in a news release.
Additional information on the case was not immediately available.
