Trump responds to controversy over 2nd Amendment comments: 'Give me a break'

During a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Tuesday, Trump said Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment – a claim that has been debunked by PolitiFact and FactCheck.org. He added, "By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

Trump dismissed the accusations Tuesday evening in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, who said Trump's remarks were "obviously" about people voting to "stop Hillary from having this impact on the court."

"Nobody in that room thought anything other than what you just said," Trump told Hannity. "This is a strong, powerful movement, the Second Amendment. Hillary wants to take your guns away. She wants to leave you unprotected in your home. This is a tremendous political movement. The NRA, as you know, endorsed me, they're terrific people. Wayne (LaPierre) and Chris (Cox) and all the people over there and they tweeted out, basically they agree 100 percent with what I said."

"Media desperate to distract from Clinton's anti-2A stance," he wrote. "I said pro-2A citizens must organize and get out vote to save our Constitution!"
