According to the San Mateo Police Department, Jackie Gordon Wilson of Rancho Cordova was arrested on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary Friday, one day after a Ring doorbell camera captured video of him breaking into a different home nearby.
"The home was completely ransacked, and multiple items were found to be stolen," police said of that house, located on Nash Drive.
Police said the owner of the home shared a video of the intruder on a Ring forum and "learned from platform users that the suspect was an Uber driver." Neighbors said he had just taken residents of nearby Rand Street to the airport, police said.
Another Ring video from the Rand Street home "showed Wilson attempting to burglarize the very home of his riders an hour after dropping them off at the airport," police said. He reportedly fled after an alarm went off.
Authorities arrested Wilson the next day near Sacramento and "recovered some items stolen from the Nash Drive residents, police said.
