Steele always warns audiences that his stunt is very real and dangerous. Over the weekend, it landed him in the hospital.

Steele told WSB he swallowed 13 swords and twisted them during a Halloween show at the Clermont Lounge in Atlanta.

“Thirteen swords traveled about 16 inches down into my chest cavity,” Steele said.

Steele said he cannot perform, which is his only means of taking care of his family.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help him pay for medical expenses as he continues to recover. More than $5,000 has been raised toward its $50,000 goal.
