UPS employee fired after video recorder found in women's restroom

NORTH APOLLO, Pa. — Authorities are investigating a report that a video recording device was found Tuesday in a women’s restroom at the UPS Customer Center in North Apollo.

Channel 11 News has learned that the device was found by a female employee, but police said it is unclear how long it was in the restroom.

UPS said Wednesday that the employee responsible has been fired. The company released the following statement:

"We are aware of the incident in North Apollo, PA and responded immediately. UPS does not tolerate misconduct from any of our employees and the individual involved is no longer an employee of the company. We are cooperating with local authorities on their related investigation."

People who live in the area were disgusted to learn of the incident.

“I think he should have got worse than that. He should be taken to jail or something. That’s disgusting,” Lois Frain said. “People like that shouldn’t be out in the street.”

An employee told Channel 11’s Aaron Martin that the restroom was used only by employees. It is unclear how many victims there might be.
