Verbal altercation ends with man being stabbed in back, police say

SOUTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man is facing several charges after stabbing another man in the back during a verbal altercation in Fayette County.

Police said Nicholas Michael Sokol, 21, of Uniontown, stabbed Kevin Allen Lowry, 41, in the back twice and also used the knife to lacerate his neck after a verbal altercation turned physical.

Lowry was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia for treatment. He is reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sokol was arrested at the scene and was taken to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $200,000 cash bond.
