Woman accused of deliberately hitting man with car in Indiana County

YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One woman has been charged on suspicion that she deliberately struck a man with her car then fled, investigators said.

April Lynn Duncan, 29, of Seward, is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangering and driving under the influence.

According to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana, the incident happened on Iselin Road near Route 286 in Young Township just after 8 a.m. on Aug. 6.

Investigators said a 25-year-old man got out of the Oldsmobile Alero that Duncan was driving and started to walk on Iselin Road, State police said Duncan then accelerated the car and struck the man.

She allegedly fled and was later arrested by state police from the Indiana barracks.

“Further investigation and witness statements determined that this crash was a deliberate incident,” the release stated.

The victim was transported to Forbes Medical Center for treatment. The details of his injuries and condition were not released as of Saturday.
