Woman Accused Of Taking $400K From Monroeville Animal Hospital

MONROEVILLE, Pa.,None — A Monroeville woman is accused of stealing nearly $400,000 from the veterinary hospital where she worked as an administrator.

Jennifer Schneiders, 34, turned herself in Thursday to face theft charges after an audit found hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from accounts belonging to her former employer, a 24-hour veterinary hospital in Monroeville.

Investigators said Schneiders began taking money out of the cash deposits starting in 2009. She was fired in September after the AVETS hospital found she'd been changing her hours to receive more pay.

Detectives later determined Schneiders had failed to deposit about $398,000 that was supposed to go into the hospital's accounts.

Schneiders was released on her own recognizance.
