Woman dies after being ejected from stolen car

PLUM — An unidentified woman died early Saturday morning after being ejected from a stolen car.

Police said a man had picked up the woman, who was later identified as Cory Lee, on his way to work and stopped at a convenience store in New Kensington. When the man was inside the store, Lee moved over into the driver's seat and sped away.

The car was reported stolen around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, but police weren't dispatched to the scene of the crash until 6:30 a.m. It's not clear when the accident actually happened.

According to police, the accident happened on a winding, hilly street called Coxcomb Hill Road.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office listed Lee's cause of death has blunt force trauma and the manner of death as accidental.

Allegheny County police are investigating the crash.
