Woman found in Allegheny River drowned, but why unanswered

PITTSBURGH — A woman whose body was pulled from a Pittsburgh river over the weekend drowned, but how and why that happened remains unclear.

The Allegheny County medical examiner has identified the woman as 36-year-old Jennifer Miller. Her address is unknown.

Her body was pulled from the Allegheny River near the Lock Wall One Marina on 23rd Street in the city's Strip District.

That happened about 4 p.m. Saturday.

Police have been investigating how she wound up in the river.
