JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Greene County woman was killed in a crash Friday night.
Heather Renee Whyel, 25, of Carmichaels, died in the crash on State Route 21 near Gwynn Road in Jefferson Township.
Pennsylvania State Police in Waynesburg said Whyel was driving a Pontiac Grand Am on State Route 21 when the car went off the road onto the berm.
The crash was reported just after 10:30 p.m. Friday. State police said Whyel made a sharp left turn and the car went into the eastbound lane into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Whyel was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
