DETROIT, Mich. — A dispute over dog droppings escalated in a Detroit neighborhood when a woman smeared dog feces on her neighbor's door.
That neighbor says he didn't even know there was an issue.
Michael Smith and his girlfriend saw their neighbor walk up and rub dog feces on their door. "I was just thinking, wow... that's crazy. I mean. People do that, you know what I'm saying," Smith told WXYZ.
The person who smeared the mess on their door was Brenda Mullins, their neighbor, and she's not denying it. "Dog came and messed in my yard. I picked it up. I took it. Put it on her door now. You didn't want to clean it up here... You'll clean up there," said Mullins.

She says this has been going on for a while, where the dogs come over and go in her yard. "The longer it goes on, the more madder I am. Today was the last straw," said Mullins.
She has video showing the dogs relieving themselves in the yard. "I had to do what I had to do. I don't want to be a vigilante but I had to do what I had to do," said Mullins.
Smith says she hasn't even tried to talk with him, and if the dogs did go in her yard, it wasn't on purpose. "They're small dogs ... they're Chihuahuas. Not like big dogs, you know what I'm saying. But most the time we have them on the property here," said Smith. He just wishes it didn't reach this point, "It's just shows that people don't know how to solve issues without doing some stupid. She could've easily just could've talked about it, you know ... resolved it. Apologized, whatever."
Mullins says she felt it was all she could do to be heard and that it wasn't a step too far. "Well I feel like I took it a little further than I wanted to ... But what was I supposed to do? I got to prove a point, too," said Mullins.
