Woman wounded when shots are fired through front window of Arlington home

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police were called early Thursday to the city’s Arlington neighborhood, where someone had fired multiple gunshots through the front window of a home and wounded a woman inside.

When officers arrived shortly before 4 a.m. to the scene on Spring Street, police said a 22-year-old woman opened the door and told them she had been shot in the leg.

The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police said the victim had just entered her home and was in the living room when the bullets came through the window. A car parked in a driveway next to the home was also damaged.

"It’s disgusting. I’ve been here for 28 years,” the car's owner, Gary Kitzinger, said. "Windshield, hood and overhead visor.”

Channel 11’s Steven Fisher reported seeing as many as a dozen evidence markers on the ground. In addition to the front window, there were also several bullet holes in the awning.

No arrests have been made.
