CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Holy guacamole!
A new Guacamole World Champion has been crowned.
Santa Barbara resident Cathy Smith won the popular contest at the 32nd annual California Avocado Festival.

The first-time competitor made her winning guac with Hass avocados, red onions, Roma tomatoes, garlic, salt and lemon.
Local chefs, celebrities, and media personalities sampled 19 entries to determine the winner.
All proceeds from the contest went to the local chapter of Future Farmers of America.
