Report: Cowboys' Felix Jones Out With Hamstring Injury

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

(Sports Network) - Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Felix Jones is reportedly going to miss 2-to-4 weeks with a left hamstring injury suffered in Sunday's loss against Arizona.

According to the Dallas Morning News, starting running back Marion Barber will see an increased role in the offense. Jones injured himself in the third quarter and did not return, and the injury comes in the wake of the announcements that quarterback Tony Romo will be out for an estimated four weeks with a broken right pinky finger and punter Mat McBriar will be out six- to-eight weeks, and possibly more, with multiple fractures in his right foot.

Jones, who has been explosive out of the backfield and in the return game, has amassed 266 yards on the ground in six games, scoring three touchdowns. The Arkansas product also has one kickoff return touchdown for the 4-2 Cowboys.

It has been six weeks since fans of the Dallas Cowboys have watched quarterback Tony Romo take the playing field at Texas Stadium. Needless to say, his presence in Sunday's Week 12 affair against the San Francisco 49ers will be a sight for those supporters' sore eyes.
