Broncos Bitten By Injury Bug
Sunday, October 5, 2008
Denver, CO -- The Denver Broncos will be without two of their key offensive players Sunday against Jacksonville. Tight end Tony Scheffler and tailback Selvin Young are out with groin injuries. Michael Pittman, who's been serving as the team's short-yardage and goal line running back, should get more carries, and tight end Nate Jackson figures to play a bigger role in Denver's high-octane offense. Scheffler and Young both strained their left groins Sunday in a rainy game against Tampa Bay at Invesco Field. Rookie receiver/returner Eddie Royal sprained his left ankle, but coach Mike Shanahan says he's expected to play.
